Notice board

Hi Debbie here with a notice board made with my very good friend Linda. We met through crafting and recently spent the day together making pickles, muffins and then a notice board.

 

Linda had a lovely piece of fabric and an mdf rectangle, we covered the board with some wadding and then used a staple gun to secure it around the edges.

Once the fabric was secure Linda found some contrasting ribbon, we measured carefully to make sure the ribbons were evenly spaced out.

 

The final touch was some little tacks to secure the ribbon. This is quick and easy to do and very effective.

Butterfly canvas

 

Hi Debbie here with a quick and easy idea for wall art. The picture below was made by my friend Faye when we spent a day crafting in the Summer holidays.

We both started out with a heart template and cut lots of butterflies, I used a canvas and Faye used an old picture frame. Once the large butterflies were positioned, the smaller butterflies were added.

Take away the template and you have a finished piece ready to go on the wall.

This is a brilliant way to use up scraps of paper and I think I will be making more.

House Warming Gift

I made use of my Citrasolv and my laser printer to make this house warming present for some lovely friends. The words are from a Jewish New Home blessing. I edged the cotton with a scrap of a lovely soft tweedy fabric and it is backed with an upholstery cream cotton fabric. 

I've been fighting with my sewing machine now for some time. I've had it for 25 years and whenever I make something it inevitably takes me much longer than it should due to all the stopping and starting and fiddling with settings.

My darling husband has just bought me a new machine which will arrive next week. So there may be some more sewing projects from me in the future.
