Hello, Felicia here to post this Saturday.  Hope everyone has has great holidays!  Today I am posting a card I made to give to my Mother.  This card is only part of her Christmas present.  The other part is for her to choose a Cricut cartridge she wants so I can buy it for her.  

This first photo is the front of the card. The sentiment was cut from Cricut cartridge:  Winter Frolic.  I then added Stickles in Green to the green lettering on the O, Y, U and the bow for the present.  I also rounded the corners of the card with a punch. The background paper is from the Heirloom Christmas Stack from DCWV.  I picked up the stack last year from Michael's.  

Here is the inside of the card.  I actually just used a tag from the paper stack to put on the inside.  Here I can write out what her real present is.  The inside paper corresponds with the paper on the front.  I know she will enjoy the card and her present!

Not so tricky treat boxes

Hello, Eleanor here. I've been looking at some amazing Halloween goody bags to give out to costumed doorbell ringers, such as Crystal's subway art treat bag, Summer's Frankenstein goodie bags and Jesiree's creative treat bags.

For mine, however, I'm keeping it simple. I started with a basic large 'Cook's matchbox' shape, idea and template from Roree for October Afternoon.

Cardstock and patterned paper in orange, green, purple and black, plus diecuts, ribbons, plastic doodads and DST, and I was done.

All that remained was to fill the boxes with sweeties, chocs and plastic rubbish, sorry, I mean toys:

Fun to make, but not too labour intensive, nor wasteful of stash, I used old scraps and tired cardstock.

That's it from me for now, don't get too scared, it'll be a hoot.

Flickering Halloween Scene

Hello, Eleanor here, with a sheet of vellum and one of black cardstock, a black, plastic, square edged, slide in file clip, and battery operated tealights (3 pack from the pound shop).

Clips look like this:

I cut some images with the cricut, glued them onto a cardstock strip, which I then glued to one end of the vellum, sliding it into the file clip. To the other end of the vellum I added another cardstock strip, rolled the vellum over, and glued it to the flat base of the file clip, with just enough width to slip in the 3 tealights, like so:

With the lights off (perched on my latest reading pile):

and with the lights on (flutter your eyelashes and you'll see how the lights flicker, not bad for £1):

I'm going to make another, a Highland winter scene, watch this space...

Christmas in July

Good Morning!

Felicia here today to bring you a little Christmas in July theme.  Now I know we don't want to think that it's just around the corner, but it will be here sooner than you think.  Today I present a one page layout.

I started out with the background green and red 12x12 paper.  I then cut the paper with Christmas words at 3x12, and 1x12.  The images of the mouse, ordaments, notes, and title "Noel" was cut from the Cricut cartridge Winter Frolic.  The mouse and music notes were cut at 3 inches, and the ordaments and title were cut at 2 inches.  I will then place wallet size photos on the page.  I will also put my journaling above the mouse, and to the right of the top wallet photos.  

One of my favorite parts of the layout is the little mouse.  He is so adorabe, so I had to put an up-close photo of him!  I wish I could tell you where I got the paper from, but I actually bought it a while ago and it didn't have a company on the back of it.

Cinco De Mayo

Happy Friday Everyone!

Since Cinco de Mayo is on Sunday, I decided to get the party started at the beginning of the weekend instead of the end.  Today's project is a Cinco de Mayo card that will get friends excited to celebrate.  

I wanted to keep the card simple, and festive.  The pinata and the Cinco de Mayo saying was cut from the Cricut Cartridge Create A Critter 2.  I started out with black and green for my background.  The black cardstock was embossed with Swirls; to make it stand out just a little bit more.  The pinata was cut at size 2 1/2 inches and Cinco de Mayo was cut at 2 inches.  For these two cutouts, I used red, yellow-orange, brown, black and purple cardstock.  I also added a banner with a clear stamp from Studio G.  I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but I used a purple ink pad, to bring out the purple from the pinata.

On the inside of the card, I wanted to incorporate colors from the front of the card.  I again used the black, green and yellow-orange cardstock.  The sentiment inside is from the same clear stamp set from Studio G, and used a red ink pad.
