Decorated Board

It was my friends' Birthday earlier this month and rather than make her a traditional card I decided to decorate a board.

I covered it in torn up old book papers and then added a wash of white to make the text blend in to the background more.

I've just discovered the new Pebeo Studio acrylics in irridescent colours. I used Violet Blue and Green yellow with Paper Artsy Bora Bora to add contrast. I tried using three irridescent but they "shouted" at each other.  The flat chalky finish of the Fresco paint was the perfect foil to the irridescent paints.

 

 

I then washed some white paint over the top.

 

 and stamped some images onto the board.

With a few painted highlights, some grunge paste with Treasure gold rubbed over it, some coco crackle and one of my favourite quotes it was finished
