Hi there! Welcome back for the second day of the IACW relaunch! It feels good to be back and I hope we are giving you food for thought- chocolate flavoured of course! I have three makes for you so brace yourselves for a looooooooong post!!
Gift box
Have you seen these little beauties in TIGER. we are lucky enough to have one locally but this is the online site It is fab!Great crafty whatnot's all around £1-3. Bargain!!
So I've got out my new promarkers( only just discovered the deep joy of these!), some plain white card and a fine liner.
Cutting out strips and colouring them I have made lots of planks of wood and made a ilttle chicken coop for keeping all those Easter eggs in! A few flowers to pretty it up and there's a cute little box. Of course now I've made a hen house for one child I'll be in the dog house with the other! So I've bought another to make a rabbit hutch for the Easter bunny!
Next up...
Cards
TIGER again! they have little packs to decorate eggs with plastic sleeves. So I've used a couple to make quick and easy cards- stickers included. I have few left so may just have to try the egg decoration too now!
Finally
An Easter bonnet for the boys
It's always a tricky on doing a bonnet/hat for a boy because they do look way to girly! My son's school were running a competition at school for the though and Andrew was keen to do it! Prizes for the top 3 which would then be sent to Hobbycraft along with other schools dor a public vote for the winner and craft hamper for the winner's school.
So we used newspaper ansd tape to make sausages and fashioned a bicycle style helmet. One sausage to do all the way around the head and three lengthways. Then add another width ways.
Then make two ears out of the sausages and fill in the gaps with more paper. To strengthen it, apply a layer of pva glue.
Next day youwill be ready to cover it in a layer of furry fabric and decorate with pipe cleaners and a pompom nose. the eyes and tooth are plain old card. Once we had made the base together, Andrew was able to crack on with the fur himself.
I'm pleased to say he actually came first at school!! Thats my boy!! Following mum's crafty footsteps!
Hope you find some time this weekend to do a few crafty bits yourself- thaks for reading!
Happy Easter!
Laura
