My mother-in-law's family were very keen on growing plants. She had a cutting from a Victorian Cactus, well it had been in the family since Victorian times.
I've had the catus for about 12 years now and it's only for the last three years it's flowered. I was on the point of composting it, but thought I'd keep going. I'm so glad I did.
The buds are just beginning to develop.
The flowers are opening.
a close up.
I just love them.
Unfortunately they only last for a couple of days after they've opened.
Never mind, I will have more next year.
Thanks for dropping by, have a creative weekend.

What an heirloom with a difference, how lucky to have it. Exquisite!
