Hi Lynne here
It seems that everywhere you look, people are raving about Pan Pastels.
In April I did a mixed media weekend at Art from the Heart, where I had a chance to play with Pan Pastels and was hooked. The vibrancy of the colour is amazing, I've used chalks and enjoyed them, but next to Pan Pastel they are really insipid.
I saw a demo where the image was stamped with flitter glu and then Pan Pastels used to colour the background. The great thing with Pan Pastels is you can rub it out if you make a mistake or want to show the base card.
I wondered if you'd get the same effect with versamark ink.
The left hand image was stamped with flitter-glu and the right hand image with versamark.
You can see that the flitter glu gives you a crisper, cleaner result. I don't know why, maybe the versamark holds the pastel more. I lke both effects and plan to play some more.

I watched a pan pastels tutorial and 'almost' decided to buy some, now I think I really must, it's a lovely rich result you have, and the flitterglu has me intrigued - the starter kit on the link you give looks ideal. The gilding would be great in art journalling too.
