I was looking around for something quite easy to work with and something that would be hard and robust when it was dry. The price wasnt too bad either and this stuff goes a long way!
I stamped some of the shapes as soon as they were cut out, I used distress inks and these fade a lot when the clay is dry, so if you want a darker image versafine worked really well.
I used two pieces of card either side of the clay to make sure I was rolling it out evenly, if you use distress inks to stamp don't worry you can ball up the excess and use again, it just adds a slight distress marbled colour to your clay.
Once your embellishments are dry you can paint them. I found some of the edges were a little papery so sanded the edges where needed.
The paints are cheap sparkly watercolours that I bought in the works. They dry with a really subtle colour and the paint goes a long way.
I hope I have inspired you to have a go at making your own embellishments.
