Hello, Mandy here.
Scrapbooking has trends and one of the latest to hit the scrapbooking scene is the chevron (although I think it looks more like a zig-zag). Anyway, I'm not really one for following fashion, but when I saw fellow scrapper, Dapfnie, and her LO called 'Enjoying the View' I thought ' Wow, love those folded chevrons'. I decided to make my own and was so inspired by Dapfnie's LO I scraplifted her chevron and photo placement.
Here's a close-up...
I took the photo of my ds back in 2007, when he was 12 and had just started really getting into photography. The photo I used has been been a fave photo of mine since then and I am so glad I finally scrapped it. Thanks Dapfnie for the link to Julia Stainton's blog where there's a clear video tutorial for making folded chevrons. I have often found Dapfnie's blog to be a great source of scrapbooking inspiration, well worth a visit :)
Bye for now,
Mandy.
What a great layout! Thanks Mandy for sharing it with us (and lifting mine :) )
I do not follow every trend either, but every now and then it "suits" me and I try it - like the Bunting or the Chevrons!
Really glad I inspired you - that's what I try when posting my layouts on my blog!
Thanks for coming back to me!
Have a great day!

I too find Daphne's work beautiful, and your layout perfectly preserves the memory of the young photographer (who probably now has so much less time for that hobby).

Hi
I love this layout. I have some similar photos if my little boy - though he is only 2 and hasnt got his own camera. I love the background camera paper - is it jillybean?
