Good morning
Today I wanted to share a project and discipline I am fairly new to - art journalling
The photo below is one of my current projects, the art calendar, which is a monthly inspirational challenge run by the immensely talented Kate Crane
The idea is to create a page for each month of the year and then fill it in with each days exploits.
It is so much fun completing each page, playing with different techniques to create a background. Cutting all the little blocks for each days journalling and finding inspiring quotes and images to use on the pages, but the best bit for me is a daily record of our families comings and goings. Sometimes mundane, often just a repeat of the day before but always an insight into our lives.
I have a couple of other art journals on the go at the moment, a fabulous circle journal which has given me the opportunity to meet 9 other wonderfu new arty friends and another journal which I like to experiment with techniques in.
If you are interested in art journalling can highly recommend some lovely and very talented and inspiring ladies, pop along and pay a visit to the blogs below ( but please be warned, art journalling can be very addictive)
The Kathryn Wheel - Kate Cranes Art Calendar
Art and Soul - the home of art journalling queen Dyan Reavely
Willowing - all things girlie and ethereal by Tam
And there are lots of inspiring You Tube videos to get you started
Happy crafting

That is such an emotional month of journalling, and beautifully illustrated and executed. An exquisite (if sorrowful) record. I hope you are finding some peace, I'm sure art journalling is cathartic.

Tracey I did this last year and really enjoyed it but found towards the end of the year I was getting further and further behind. Your page is beautiful love the flowers and ruler stamp. Great colour way too.
