is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
After our recent blizzards and scary storms I ventured out to a local artisan gift shop and fell in love with a white-painted metal snowflake wreath.
I came home and created my own with the aid of my Cricut, Joys of the Season cartridge, a 50p lace bargain, some white card, mountboard and a few flatback pearls.
First I cut a 14 in ring from mountboard (drawing round my large frying pan lid), and wrapped it with 6in lace stapled on the outer edge:
Once finished, I evened out the gathers:
and cut 64 snowflakes from plain white cardstock, 16 of each of four designs.
I used glue dots to stick them on, and to the uppermost 8 I gave a pearl centre.
Let it snow!
Happy Christmas everyone.

Stunning Eleanor. I would love to try this as it looks so serene and pure. What size did you set for cutting the snowflakes? Think I have a piece of white net and I think this would do for wrapping the mountboard. I have been using my Cricut every day last week as I have been making a scrapbook as a 65th birthday gift for my dd's father on law.I remember why I love my Cricut??

Hi Catriona, lovely to hear from you. I cut at 2.5", having tried 3" which was a bit big. The net would be perfect, and cutting the mountboard was the only arduous part of the whole thing, if I was doing another I would use the white polystyrene base that some pizzas come on, but it was a spur of the moment thing and didn't have one.
I too recall why i love my Cricut, and i think I will treat myself to a new cartridge or 2 in January, now that it is out of its box for the first time since we came to Scotland.
Lianne mine is the smaller one, a cricut create, which cuts 6" wide, UKS sponsors have them, approx £160, or there's the Cricut Expression 12" wide, which is about £300. Carts are from 20 - 45 ish.
There are other electronic die-cutters but I'm happy with my Cricut.
