Earlier this month I told you about a class I did at The Craft Barn with Andy Skinner. Well I decided to make a weekend of it and did a canvas class on the Sunday with Jo Firth-Young. Jo is lovely and very patient, I would like to do more classes with her. She also writes for Craft Stamper and I have made some of her projects from there.
We used the gorgeous PaperArtsy Fresco finish paints and metallic glaze. The paint leaves a lovely surface to stamp onto. We stamped onto Claudine Hellmuth sticky back canvas which made it really easy to stick on the canvas board. You could lay the flowers and leaves on the surface and check you liked the arrangement before sticking them in place. The metallic glaze leaves a really pretty shimmery image when used on it's own or adds a shimmer to the paint when mixed in.
The stamps were Claudine Hellmuth build a scene stamps Bloom. I had thought they weren't for me but now I've had chance to play and see how well they work I love them. I can see some great embellishments being created using them.
Thanks for looking Lynne x
Beautiful canvas, lovely to see some pretty flowers when it is so dark and grim outside. x
