Well as autumn aproaches I am drawn to the yarn department of my local John Lewis to buy wool for a winter scarf. I didn't intentionally plan to knit a new scarf each year, it just sort of happened!
This years scarf is different to last years. The squares are much bigger, the yarn is much thicker and the colours far more autumnal.
The pattern for the flower granny is made up ALTHOUGH I must stress that I am sure it isn't unique to me and my scarf.
I used Rowan Felted Tweed Aran in colours:
733 - Green
732 - Red
731 - Purple
722 - Orange
728 - Grey
I also tried a new (new to me) way of joining squares that looks 'blanket stitchy' on one side....
To join place squares right side together and join with dc in right hand corner space, 3 ch, 1 dc into the little space after 3rd tr. *3ch, 1 dc into little space after 6th tr, *Repeat 3 times. 3 ch, 1 dc into corner space. 2 ch. 1 dc into corner space of next two squares, 3 ch, 1 dc into the little space after 3rd tr. *3ch, 1 dc into little space after 6th tr, *Repeat 3 times. 3 ch, 1 dc into corner space.
TIP: Join the squares in the pattern/order you want with safety pins to avoid them getting all mixed up and keep them together. Makes joining much easier!

Such lovely colours, and although you say the flower granny pattern may not be unique, the end result certainly is, gorgeous.
