Hi Debbie here with a way to cheer up a pasting table.
My sister in law asked if I would like to go to a fair with her, so I got brave, got out my crafty things and worried about a table. The really good tables are around £40 and I couldn't warrant that expense without trying a couple of fairs first to see how it went.
So I found the cheapest option was definitely a pasting table from a local DIY store, holding the weight of my little crafty things wasn't the problem, the problem was it was so ugly.
I painted the surface with a small sample pot of paint called ocean blue, I spread it over the table with a baby wipe it didn't cover completely but I liked the effect.
Then I decided to try a decorative edge and used some foam stamps I have had for ages to stamp Hand Made Gifts around the edge in a dark blue acrylic paint.
I put a little of the paint on a saucer and spread it thinly with a paintbrush to give good coverage on the stamp. I like the shabby old effect of the stamping and then decided to paint over with silver. I used a sponge to give a thin covering.
I covered the whole table with spray varnish to seal the paint.
The bunting around the table is made with tiny scraps of fabric sewn onto some cotton twill tape. I sewed velcro onto the bunting (the hard loop side) and staple gunned the soft velcro onto the table.
I had a dry run in the back garden.
We got packed up and ready to go, and got rained off! Fingers crossed for next time.
Debbie x

Love that bunting; an attractive display will draw folk in like a magnet I'm sure. Come on sunshine...
