Hiya Claireliz here.
You may remember back in February I posted this post about Smash Books by K&Co. I also said that I was going to have a go at making my own with an A4 sketch book....
I made a start by drawing a border & colouring in it in with Purple Neo Colour Wax Watercolour Crayons, then sketched out all of the words I wanted to use in pencil...
When I was happy with the layout I inked all of the letters in & th ephoto of me is attached with Pink Paislee Artisan Tape...
Now the real Smash Books have patterned pages, my sketch book was blank, but I didn't really want to create my own backgrounds as it would be more of an art journal, so I decided to use my favourite papers...
You know the papers I mean, the ones you buy but can't bear to use as they are so lovely...
I thought it was quite a good idea, I'm using the paper & I can still see it & stroke it whenever I want...
Some pages have doodling, some won't have doodling...
But at the moment all of them are works in progress.
The official Smash Books have landed in the UK & I believe there are quite a few retailers selling them, but I'm having quite a lot of fun just making my own.
Thanks for stopping by to see us over on IACW today.
Hope to see you again soon .

I'm surprised that the Smash Books are available here because according to the Smash fan blog 'they weren't going to be available outside the US until the end of Summer'. I read that so didn't bother looking (as many others will too) but thanks for the heads up.
It's a good idea to make your own anyay (I did too) you can make it much more personal and tailored to your own interests.

I love the larger format of yours Claire, and if we can round up as many folk who make their own as we can find, then we'll have a 'SMASHING' day here on the blog, sharing all the pics, and seeing how varied they all are. You in, Nicky? :)

Love your customised book. Will have to have a go at making one myself.

Far more cheaper & personal than K&Co's smash books
