Hello Joy here
I really did try hard to find a special Royal Wedding Souvenir but there was nothing I liked. I decided that I would have to make one of my own!
I was browsing this lovely website Little Musings and found these fantastic images on the digi stamp shop
I absolutely love them. I bought them immediately!!! The images are emailed to you and then you can do what you wish with them. I wanted to do an embroidery. I printed off my images.
I then stuck them to my patio doors and placed a piece of calico over the top.
I then traced over the image with a soft pencil.
I stretched the calico into an embroidery hoop. Make sure the image is centred.
I started to stitch around the image using back-stitch.
Stitch in the whole image with different colours of stranded embroidery thread.
I left my finished cup in the embroidery hoop and added a ribbon so that I could hang it up. I am now going to do the crown and a pair of corgis. I will embroider the date onto one of the finished hoops.
Last week SJ put these images up on the site
My daughter is desperate for me to do some more embroidery for her bedroom using these fabby images.
Hope this has given you some inspiration. Happy stitching.

I really love the cup and saucer, and nodding and smiling at the patio window trick, makes your arm ache though, lol. I'm doodle stitching at the moment, where do you buy your hoops?

I usually buy the hoops at Hobby craft. They are very reasonable.
Debbie - I did it an evening. Backstitch is really quite quick.

What a brilliant souvenir! And much more personal than something quickly bought - lovely inspiration.
