Hello again, this is Mandy here (in shock that Christmas is on the way! ) Anyway, I saw this felt stocking at Hobbycraft for only 99p and decided to decorate it with a crochet snowman motif...
I used 4ply PATONS cotton yarn and a 2mm hook. The snowman measures about 5.5"
He's designed to be an applique that can be sewn onto another project. Here he is before I sewed him onto the stocking. He's a snowman with attitude & is supposed to be on a jaunty angle!
Here are all his components...
This is a fairly easy crochet project for a beginner/novice and will let you practice crocheting rows and in the round too. Hope the free downloads are useful and don't forget here at IACW we would love to see any projects you make (don't be shy!!)
Just so you know, the names used for crochet stitches in the UK and USA are NOT the same and can be very confusing, so make sure to download the free pattern for UK or USA terms.

Take care,
Mandy.
I can imagine him in a Mario game (someone tell me they know what I mean, lol) and have started the body already, despite not having the right hook, or thread!
xx
