Hello again,
this is Mandy here, hoping everyone had a fab Summer.
I am really drawn to the idea of 'hybrid' scrapping because I love to play with my photos in Photoshop Elements or on the website 'PICNIK' but I don't feel I could ever give up pretty patterned paper or glue by going totally digi. I have been taking an online class called Learn Something New Everyday by Shimelle and have used this opportunity to try out some simple 'hybrid' scrapping. I knew it had to be super simple and achievable because of making a page every day throughout September because if it was over complicated I knew I wouldn't keep it up for 30 days.
With this in mind, I decided to make a variety of basic templates in PSE. Every day I choose one of my templates, add the photos & journaling and print out the page. Then I just mat the printed page onto different patterned paper and add ribbon and a date tag. I could easily add other embellishments like buttons and probably would if I wasn't doing a page a day.
Here's page one, September 1st...
The page was made with template 13 and can be downloaded below. The template size is 6" x 8" and is a PSE layered template.
As you can see I needed to write more journaling so just adjusted the box size. If there's a day when I have loads to say I will use the biggest box on the template, with smaller photos. On days with not many photos I plan to cover the un-used boxes with patterned paper.
'Hybrid' scrapping is very diverse, this is my slant on simple & achievable hybrid scrapping. There are loads more free templates here on my blog for anyone who wants them.
Thanks for visiting IACW,
Mandy
Never tried digi before but love how you can move the template around to fit in your photos etc.
