My daughter recently passed her driving test and when I saw some beautiful trim in a local fabric shop I could not resist. It has beautiful organza type flowers and beaded bits, there is no way on this earth I could possibly make anything resembling it, and it was in her favourite colour - purple.
I made a t shaped pattern from paper to fit around the sat nav.
I had to move Kami our cat first because he decided the wadding was a perfect place to sleep lol.
I sandwiched the purple fabric with padding in the middle and plain calico on the other side, they were sewn on the 'wrong side' and then turned the right way around to make a neat seam.
I sewed along each corner/edge of the bag so the sides and the top would fold in the correct place.
Once the basic bag was assembled, I added some lace to the top of the bag and used lace and fabric to stitch on a handle.
I hand sewed the flowers on to make sure I got each little end of ribbon and beads to stop any chance of fraying.
Hope you have enjoyed seeing my little bag, now I need to make one for myself I think.

This is so pretty, I bet your daughter was thrilled with it too.

A lovely bag, I've never seen such gorgeous trim, it's a great use of it.
