Instructions
Take the three pieces of cardstock and measure and mark at the half
way point so that you have two 12 x 6 sides. Score and fold all three
sheets. Make the fold on one sheet both ways, to the front and to the
back. We will call this sheet A.
Lay the two sheets side by side on a flat surface so that the sides
touch.
..Run a line of double sided sticky tape down all four sides of the
reverse of sheet A.
Take the glued side of sheet A and glue it directly down over the
other two sheets.
You now have the bare bones of your shrine.
By following this formula you can make different sized shrines.
Ways to decorate your shrine
Use sheets of the same patterned paper when decorating the inside
of the shrine, remember not to paper over the fold.
Use pieces of cut or torn papers to create a collage effect.
Try painting the outside of your shrine.
By using ribbons and brads you can create a latticed 'message' board
effect in your shrine.
You could try making it from plain cardstock and stamp it with rubber
stamps and perhaps try heat embossing.
Try using further sheets to extend the shrine.
As long as the card used is of sufficient thickness then the shrine will
be self supporting.
Shrines can be used to display photographs and memorabilia.
You could make special shrines to use for milestone birthday cards,
or christening gifts.
If you do not use lumpy embellishments then the shrine will fold flat
and can be tied with a ribbon.
Ooh I love the colours you've used on this one Ali. Just lovely.
