I have just got into making ATCs and after reading the Artist Trading workshop book, I decided to make my own stencils.
I painted the ATC with a base colour.
I used punches with acetate to make my own stencils, one punch with hearts, the other was punched with a fiskars ribbon punch border and then I cut holes along one side with a cropodile to resemble note pad paper.
I used the stencils with darker acrylic paint.
I cut out some images from a magazine and stuck them all together.
The words were added with strips from the magazine, stamped with stazon. Next time you are throwing magazines out have a look through the pictures first. You never know what you might create.

Your ATC is beautiful Debbie. Thanks for the tips on creating your own backgrounds. I have some acetate packaging ready for the bin and I'm now going to create my own stencils.
