Hi, Ali here, last week, when i was decorating my house for Halloween,i came across these hanging decorations that i made a few years ago,and i remembered that,at that time,i bought more round coasters to make Christmas decorations with, but for some reason,i'd never got around to making them. so i rooted them out and decided to make some Christmas wreaths.
The first step with the coasters is to cover both sides of the card coaster,or you could use beermats,or just cut out circles, with patterned paper, when they were dry,i inked or painted the raw edges too.
While the ink/paint was drying i sorted out my stash to find the embellishments i wanted to use.
The wreath at the top of the page has a smaller circle cut from the center of the coaster, wide satin ribbon was then wrapped around the coaster, with the ends being secured with glue. the ivy leaves were inked and stickled and left to dry,and the 'berries' were dabbed with a red stickle and left to dry.
The leaves and berries were glued in place and the ribbon added last.
The red coaster has grunge board snowflakes that have been painted white and then covered with german glass glitter, this has also been applied to the edges of the coaster.
The blue coaster features little bows from chiffon ribbons and a lovely cream satin bow takes center stage, surrounded by clear and baby blue buttons.
The coasters look lovely hanging from my mantelpiece,or maybe they could be hung from banisters or on windows,or maybe you could turn them into cards or tags?
Lovely idea!

I love the coaster art. Isn't it amazing what we can use to be creative?

These are wonderful - the holey one especially. I'd like to hang a whole bunch of these from the inner front door, instead of my ancient tacky plastic thing.
