Hiya Claire here.
I have a confession to make, I have developed a habit of hand stitching on every layout I make at the moment, I'm especially fond of stitched borders. It took me three hours to do the stitching on this one, but I think it was well worth the pain in my wrist after I had finished.
It was the first time I had attempted a loopy border & I got the idea from a Martha Stewart punch that I haven't managed to add to my punch collection yet. I drew the border onto the cardstock faintly with a pencil, then I put some Blu Tack inbetween the cardstock & my cutting mat & made the holes for the stitches along the pencil lines with a needle. Then rub the lines out & use backstitch to sew the border. To do backstitch, tie a knot in your thread & sew through a hole with the knot at the back of the cardstock, then go through the next hole as normal, when coming up from the back to the front of the cardstock as if doing running stitch ,stitch back into the hole you previously went throug, this fills in the gap in the stitching, & should be continuous. It does take a while, but it is something I'm sure I'll be doing again.
I hope you enjoyed it & I'll see you again soon.
Claire
