Hello, Eleanor here.
I'm involved in another circle journal, this one involving rubber stamping.
Each of the ten or so members of the circle chooses a stamp, makes a journal and completes an entry in it, then sends it off around the circle, complete with stamp, for each member to 'do their thing'. Usually anything goes, but as the months go by, entries seem to get harder and harder, as most of the more obvious choices have been taken.
The latest entry I completed used this stamp:
as chosen by jo.bee on UKS. Some beautiful and fanciful entries are already in her journal, which is about 6x6 inches, mostly using the stamp 'as is' and I pondered for a while, until finally, loving the seaside as I do, I settled on 'Wish You Were Here'.
I made a background simply with sandpaper and patterned paper to represent sand sea and sky, used stripy paper and scored cardstock for beach huts, echoed the hanging letters on the original stamp by downloading a similar font (BackTalk serif) for the title,
and finally had an opening door, behind which was standing my 'altered' fairy.
Her body I recut plain, and drew a bikini top with fineliner, her sunglasses I made from tiny white wire hearts, backed with black cardstock and infilled with diamond glaze, and her sarong hanging over the door was originally one of her wings.
Finally I completed the back of a sign-in tag, which is about 4cms tall, and got carried away on the front of it with more sandpaper.
Now I'm off to the post office to send my beach babe on her way.
Wish you were here, and see you soon.
