And I am SO pleased with how it's turned out. It's very Uni, and it will keep me so toastie warm standing on the side of the rugby field. Just perfect.
Full instructions will be on my blog very soon!
Hi from Caz!
On September the 1st I shared my latest crochet project, a granny square scarf. But this is no ordinary granny sqaure. These are teeny tiny ones, just 4 cm/sq and two rounds.
I started with a basket full of YUMMY Rowan yarn.....
....which quickly grew into a pile of tiny granny squares......
.....all ready to be sewn together.
It's a good idea at this point, to pin all your squares to a piece of calico. This helps get the colours random, and gives you an idea of what the finished article will look like.
There are a few different ways of joining your crochet.
I have sewn into the bottom of the outside stitches from underneath. The stitch is well hidden and can be pulled tight once you have a few done. But not too tight!
So far (it's 23:13 Friday night as I type this sentance) I have sewn all the short lengths and 2 long. Only 2 to go then all the ends must be sewn in and some sort of detail around the edge.
My scarf is made up of 245 squares, and is 5 squares wide and has 49 rows. It's almost 6 foot long!
I've used 14 balls of yarn so far. 11 to make the squares and 3 to sew it together. I chose the brown, light blue and pink for the joining as they were the most neutral colours.
Look out in the next week for an update! It's going to be finished before the month is up!

I really like your scarf! As a fellow 'hooker' I can appreciate all the hard work & time that went into it. Ever tried amigurumi (japanese style crochet toys) it's fun and addictive!
