I've just discovered this technique and I think it's wonderful. If you enjoy doodling, then this is a technique for you. Basically, you take image stamps, those with lines and dots work best, and stamp liberally all over your cardstock. Then, you go over your work however you like with a white pen, creating the look of a bandana scarf.
This card is made using Stampin' Up! goodies. The stamps were the Polka Dot Punches set, and I stamped using Not Quite Navy ink onto Ruby Red cardstock. I then put little polka dots around the whole design and used a stamp from the Occasional Greetings set for my sentiment.
I love this card I've done. It reminds me of an old vintage material, like an old scarf. The set I used for this is called Live Your Dream. I coloured and stamped the stamps using a mixture of Perfect Plum, Pretty In Pink and Old Olive inks onto Pale Plum cardstock. I then doodled around the flowers and highlighted the butterflies with white pen and added polka dots in between to create the "fabric" look. This was then placed on a card made of Perfect Plum cardstock and finished off with Hodge Podge hardware and Old Olive ribbon. All products Stampin' Up!
I'm not the greatest doodler, but I'm quite happy with the way these have turned out and I think this is the sort of technique anyone could make look gorgeous. If I can, anyone can!
