Hiya Claire here.
Just wanted to share this little word book that I made from scratch & even better I used up old stash & some cardboard that I get from the back of receipt pads at work (when they've been used up of course)
I cut the cardboard to 5.5 inches & left it at 11.5 inches long
I cut the letters 5 inches high by 3 inches wide (I used my Craft Robo for this) then I put them on the cardboard to use as templates. Lay the first letter onto the first piece of cardboard & draw around it & cut out theshape of the letter on the right hand edge leaving the left hand edge straight (this will be the side you bind) Then I placed the second letter on the next bit of cardstock about 3.5 inches in from the left hand edge of the cardboard (so the letters are not hidden under one another) & again cut the shape of the letter of the right hand side leaving the left edge straight. repeat this for the other letters.
It should then look something like this
I painted the edges black & coated in Mod Podge to varnish it. You can use ink but as this isn't proper chipboard its too absorbent & it soaks up all the ink.
Then cover all shapes in patterned paper... I used Basic Grey Scarletts Letter paper
Add photos & embellishments & journaling (Most of a sheet of 7gypsies stickers & a few ribbons & buttons)
Then bind with book rings or a Bind It All. I tied ribbons around my book rings to prettify them (if thats a word) And here it is one finished word book all about my big soft labrador - Asha.
Not only do I have a lovely mini book, I'm feeling virtuous about using up old stash... & it gives me an excuse to buy some more - tee hee.
Hope you enjoyed...Thanks for stopping by
Come back & see us again soon

Perfect paper for those gorgeous photos. I've never made one of these, but I will now.
