As well as my veg patch I have also started a kitchen garden.
And it is all thanks to the wonderful inspiration of the Edible Wall, seen at this years Chelsea Flower Show. Now please don't for one second imagine that a whole wall in my kitchen is going to be lined with lettuce as scrumptious looking at these, lol.
No, I have a much simpler version :)
Smaller plants tend to get squashed under the cat as he loves to roll around the veg patch, making a pest of himself. So it's not a great idea to put lettuce in the veg patch.
Tins, which can be thrown in the recycle bin at the end of summer are a great size for growing a lettuce. And when it's ready and harvested you can just pop another seed in to give you a good crop rotation!
Unfortunatly I don't have a photo to share as in my wisdom I waited too long to split the plants up and they are all looking a bit 'limp'. I know they will perk up but as I only did it on Sunday it will take a few more days!
But I can share photos of the veg patch.
The shed has a door!!
Yummy little tomatoes just about to be picked and ripened in the sun on the window sill.
Fresh garden peas eaten straight from the pod! Such rich goodness in each one :)
I love to watch courgettes grow, and popping them in the oven to roast with some fresh basil, picked fresh that day is a JOY!
haPPy dAy!

Yum, the only way to eat garden peas.
If the sun on the windowsill doesn't happen, the brown paper bag in the drawer trick always works for me.
