Hi again from Di in a sunny but chilly Johannesburg!
If you remember a few weeks ago I attended a convention with Tim Holtz and Jayme Shephard from Making Memories.
Well, part of Jayme's class was to interpret this design (apologies for the scan!):
And she gave us loads of stuff to interpret this design:
To start with I had no photograph so had no idea what to do! Then I realised that I could interpret this, use different papers, positions and really did it matter about the photograph?
I did my layout VERY quickly and when I got home added the photograph and the sentiment. I used only what was in the pack and had enough left for the second challenge.
Here is my interpretation
This is what I did:
-
I used a different background paper
-
I placed my sentiment on the left rather than the right
-
Instead of using ribbon at the bottom I used strips of a gorgeous faded dark brown paper which looks like ribbon
-
I placed my flowers differently
-
I matted my photograph on the same yummy dark brown
And Voila Viola I was done.
When I got home I found the perfect photograph!
This was the second layout:
And this is what I did:
This was a real challenge for me cos normally I do not like to interpret a design BUT I really enjoyed it! Its also great when you are out of inspiration.
Thanks for visiting us here at IACW
Love always from Di XXX
I much prefer both of yours, they are more 'together' than the originals, but that aside, I love how you only used the blue in accents and letters, I'm always trying to match too many things, need to relax more, clearly, lol.
