Hi from Caz
I have a layout class today focused around a lovely photo of our own Mad{Di} and her friend Wild Roze. Now I must point out early on that I don't know Roz, (obviously Di is my mother!) but I know that they are good friends and share a special bond. And it's important to me to capture and record that friendship.
The lesser focus of the class is to USE YOUR STASH. In todays economic climate it may not be possible for many of us to indulge in all the new lines of stash, but there is lots of YUMMY stash at your finger tips. You bought it now USE it!
Supplies:
1 sheet of cardstock
2 sheet of co-ordinating patterned paper (I've used paper from my latest ScrapRoom kit)
Some embellishments (preferably a few bits)
Large alpha stickers (or a cricut/craft robo) to cut your title
Small alpha stickers/rubber stamps, for a sub title/names/date
Some rub ons, chipboard shapes and any other goodies you have laying about. (Use Your Stash!!)
Paper edger scissors. (optional)
Ink for the edges.
(I chose to do a 8.5"x11" layout but you could do this on 12"x12" or 12"x6" too)
Cut your first sheet of patterned paper so you leave approximatly 1" of card stock showing on two edges. Stick it down so that it's flush with the bottom left corner of your cardstock. I used paper that had a uneven edge, but you could use scalloped scissors for a bit of shape.
Cut your second sheet of co-ordinating patterned paper an inch shorter than the length of your layout size. So on my layout it's 10 inches. This sheet you can make as wide as you want. Stick this strip down so that it's flush with the left hand side of your cardstock. Again use paper edgers for a bit of shape.
Place your photo slightly off centre, up and left.
And now embellish! Go wild!
Have fun and dont forget you can send your work into us for our readers gallery to, acreativeworld@hotmail.co.uk
