Hi from Di - visiting my dear friend Wild Roze this week in Cape Town South Africa.
I have had a few days of real (not retail) therapy and want to share with you what I have been up to! Wild Roze and I both bought a few of the following little albums (about 17cm high and 28cm wide). Wild Roze managed to finish quite a few in the past few months. They are so cheap, made from good quality chipboard and cost less than 3 pound sterling!!!
Here are 2 of the inside pages from Wild Roze's "Friends" album.
BUT we both wanted an album which we could not find / was not available so we made our own The album we wanted was "TODAY".
I traced all the letters we needed(using what we had as templates), and cut 2 of each letter from a good quality sturdy chipboard. We punched the holes, selected a heap of patterned paper, cardstock and ribbon etc, and then spent LOTS of wonderful hours just covering our pages and making extra pages. It was so therapeutic just to sit, select paper, measure, cut and stick.
Part of the fun was co-ordinating the back of 1 page with the front of the next page. I took the easy way out and covered all my fronts with the same paper to start with. We had a few OOPS's along the way.
This is how my album looks from the front (it is currently a work in progress):
Wild Roze has finished some pages:
We also started the "Dream" book. Here are our covered but unadorned Dream albums:
This is Wild Roze's:
And this is mine - as you can see I used lots of "old" patterned papers:
I had great fun making extra pages - this one has a flap on the right and I will probably use little magnets to keep it closed. We also made pages with flaps at the top:
LOL my Dream album is quite fat because I made extra chipboard pages between each letter!
Now all we have to do is decorate.
Our "Today" albums will have no or few photographs and will be a sort of "Inspirational album".
I had forgotten just how much I enjoy cutting and measuring and this therapy help recover some MOJO!. I have decided to make a "LIFE" album which should be really easy cos I can use my E as a template for all the letters!!!
Give it a try and see just how much fun you have.
Thank You all for visiting IACW and love from Di
PS Thanks too to Wild Roze who let me share with you her wonderful work in progress albums.
