There are lots of different versions of this, and I thought I'd just show you mine and a couple of the different poems you can use to make your own version. Here's how to do it:
You can add or subtract whatever you want for your soup. For mine I used a sachet of hot chocolate drink, marshmallows (a lot of people use mini marshmallows but I couldn't find them so I just used the larger ones), some chocolate chips, some Lebkuchen biscuits (from Sainsbury's) and a candy cane. The mug I used was a plain pale blue one which was just £1.49 from Sainsbury's.
All the different loose elements were packed in separate bags. You can use whatever you have to hand (so long as it's clean!) - ziploc bags, sandwich bags. For mine I used cellophane bags you put cards in - cut them down and just taped them closed with a little sellotape.
Then you need to make a little card with your poem inside. All I did was type mine out on the right hand side of white cardstock, cut it out and fold in half. I then decorated it with a little stamped snowman image on the front as shown. This is the poem I used:
Always glad to hear it
With freezing weather drawing near
You'll need to warm the spirit
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick
Just add hot water, sip it slow
It's sure to do the trick!
Here's another one:
When the weather outside is frightful,
Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
When you feel a chill or 'burrrrrr',
Use the peppermint stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
If you're not keen on these poems, you could either make your own up, or if you do a Google search for "Snowman Soup Poems" that should bring up more.
All that is then left to do is to put everything in your mug, wrap it in cellophane (available from Hobbycraft or Ebay) and then tie it with ribbon and attach your card!
These would make great teacher gifts and are easy enough for the kids to make. They could decorate the little poem card themselves!
I hope you like this idea and I'll see you again soon!
Lots of love, Joanne xx
My mouth is watering! This is such a cute idea, I love your ideas for what to include, I might make one for myself lol!

I love this...I can't believe I've never seen it before but I love it so much! I have to make some of these as goodies for friends/teachers. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Peace & Love,
