Hi from Caz and welcome to PROJECT 2009. 12 months, 12 projects :)
'Review' layouts, minibooks and all other projects have been around for years. And we creATive girls have decided to break it down into manageable chucks. We're taking on the challenge to help as many scrappers (and ourselves) create an album that will be something to look back on and enjoy for many years to come. And of course for future generations to enjoy too!
Ali Edwards is an awesome scrapper who has done many daily/monthly projects. Check out her December Daily 2008 Project! She has some awesome ideas for albums, and helpful hints :)
UK scrapping talent Clare, has done a 2008 month in review album, that is just plain FABBO! The class was part of the ATDML retreat and is available to download.
Our own, lovely Andrea has long since been a 'review' scrapper. Here are some examples...
The first is a whole year. This can either be used as the first or last page of your album, or you can have an album full of 'yearly' pages.
A month page, can have as little or as much detail as you want to include.
'Event' pages like this holiday layout can be an accompliament to your month page.
As can this fab layout. It will be so interesting for Andrea to look back at this layout in 20 years time to see what changes have taken place in her village.
{As always please don't forget to give credit where credit is due!}
So now that you have seen all the fab ideas, and are all inspired, I guess this is the bit where you have to decide on a theme and format.
Will you do 12 layouts, 12 minibooks or 12 albums {!}??
THEMES
12 months of baby's/childs life.
12 months in MY life.
12 months in OUR life.
12 months in our FAMILY.
FORMATS
Well this really is boundless, but be sure to pick a size that can accomodate a few photos!
And now for what we are going to do for you!
On the first SUNDAY of each month we will have a 'prompt' post, with ideas. These will include 'what to photograph', interesting information to include on your pages and layout examples.
I have chosen to use a MM corduroy 8x8 album. And I will do a review layout each month. Some months, like July, may include a seperate layout of an occasion, such as open gardens or my birthday. I would like to look back each year to see how my garden {and me} has changed.
Here is a sneaky peak at my March 2008 layout.....but you'll have to wait till March to see the whole thing, lol.
And Hi from MadDi
I was very uncertain about what to with this project, until I "remembered" this wonderful stuff!, left to me by my dad.
There are so many great memories that my 2009 project will be about the great events in his life And there were many!
I found so many wonderful things:
-
his naval discharge papers
-
his apprenticeship papers
-
school cerificates for my sister, brother and me
-
an old bank savings account book
-
and lots more!
Wonderful faded newspaper "cuttings" from dad's football days collected by my grandfather:
Can you believe that my dad saved for over 50 years the folder that used to hold the "Radio Times" (if you can remotely remember the "radio times magazine" LOL )
I am going to start by scanning all the precious documents,
I want my project to have a vintage feel so I am using my current favourite cardstock - cardboard coloured! I have a spare 8 by 8 album (the lime green one) but the 12 by 12 album I think will be perfect!
Good luck with the 2009 project - I am going to have loads of fun! love from Di XXX
It will be awesome for you all to join us!!

This looks fab! I already do a monthly garden album each year, but a monthly DLO of family happenings would be great!

What a great idea and one I might just join in with. I think I'll use it for journalling the months to give me a review of the year too.
