Okay, so I'm probably really behind the times, but I've just discovered a great way of making scallops using good old circle punched shapes. It's so much easier if, like me, you have scallop scissors but can't cut in a straight line to save your life!!
Above are a couple of cards I made using this technique, here's a quick rundown on how to do the "Hi!" card.
1. First of all, I stuck a white circle of cardstock to a green one. The dimensions are approximately 8.5cm for the white cirlce, 9cm for the green circle. Punch out quite a few circles from a co-ordinating cardstock colour. You can use any size circle punch you have, but for this card I'm using a 1 inch punch.
2. Using repositionable adhesive, stick the circles to the back of the green circle, butting them up against each other. Keep checking the front to see how it looks and adjust as necessary.
3. For my card I didn't need to go all the way round as I overlapped the edge and just trimmed the excess off, but if you wanted to go all the way around, you could just overlap the circles until you get the effect you want.
The birthday card was made in the same way. I cut half an inch off the front right hand side of the card and just lined my circles up along the edge, trimming the ends as necessary.
I hope you like this technique and have a go - it's great fun and super easy!
See you again soon. TFL! Joanne xx
