Hi again from MadDi on another cardmaking day at IACW.
I have really caught the card making bug and I think its because they are soooo quick to make and great for using up loads of stash!!!
My card today is a layered handbag card and we all know someone who LOVES handbags.
For the main card I cut a piece of card stock weight double sided patterned paper 12 by 6 inches, folded it in half and then cut off a piece on either side so that the top of the card measures 4 inches across and the bottom 6 inches.
For the card overlay I cut a piece of card stock weight double sided patterned paper 10 by 5 inches, folded it in half and then cut off a piece on either side so that the top of the overlay measures 3 inches across and the bottom 5 inches.
For the handle, I cut some of the reverse side of the paper 6 by 3 inches folded it in half and stuck the two pieces together. I then cut out the handle shape using my craft knife.
Assembling the card is easy peasy. I stuck the handle between the two layers by cutting two small slits in the overlay.
I added some stitching to the front of the card and then had to hide the back by attaching even MORE PP. LOL.
This is my finished card. I have not added a sentiment yet!!!
And here is another even simpler example:
For the handles you could use pipe cleaners or wire and cover them in scraps of ribbon:
And one last example where I wound twine around some florist wire to make the handle:
Thanks for visiting IACW and love from MadDi XXX
