Hi Everyone! It's Angela here!
I recently got a pack of swirl elements grungeboard and I decided to have a play with them to decorate a frame that I have been working on.
Grungeboard is Tim Holtz's version of Chipboard, only it is flexible, doesn't tear easily, can be painted sanded etc. The posibilities are endless.
I decided to use the large heart element as it is coming up to Valentines day.
Using Distress Inks and cut and dry foam, I dabbed some Red onto the heart - immediately the swirls stood out more.
One I had covered this entirely, I edged it with some walnut stain Distress Ink to give the piece some dimension.
The heart was then edged with Copper Adirondak Paint dauber.
Finally, to make the swirls "pop" I covered them with Treasures Gold wax.
As something different, I decided to sew through the grungeboard, doing blanket stitch around the edge in gold embroidery thread.
I then used some Magic fibres behind the grungeboard as an extra embellishment. Magic Fibres are similar to Angelina fibres - you take a small amount of the fibres, lay them out on a piece of tissue paper and cover with another piece of tissue paper. Then iron over this on a silk setting. The fibres will stick together.
I then adhered these to the frame which had previously been painted and stamped on.
Hope you enjoy playing!
