One evening last week I did a really quick and simple layout on a laptray in front of the new series of CSI (yay for CSI!). When I went to bed that night I was flipping through a back issue of Beautiful Homes magazine when I noticed that one of the magazine pages was pretty much identical to the structure of the layout I had just scrapped, just back-to-front.
I thought if it worked that way round, then it could work the other way round too, so I had a quick look through the rest of the magazine to see if I could find a ‘sketch’ that I could use!
I found this one:
….and very easily converted it into a sketch (not a really necessary step!):
…and came up with this layout!
I love all the different sketch sites but sometimes it’s nice to find your own inspiration from other places, magazines are really good for multi-photo layouts and can give you a nice simple structure leaving you to add more detail if you like. This is great if you are stuck one evening and want to set yourself a mini-challenge, any magazine with photos and text will work.
Happy Scrapping!

Love it! I like looking for colour schemes in magazine layouts, too - great sources of inspiration. Beautiful layouts :) xx
