Back to Christmas

Ooh yikes! Interview was today. I have no idea how I feel about it. In one thought it was good, in the next it was crap, and then the following it was great! What the hell!
My mind is whirling and buzzing in my skull.
We find out on Friday and to be honest I don't know how I'm going to stick it out that long.

So for now enough of that and a Christmas gift share. This beautiful tray was a gift from dear husband from Jolie.
I had shown it to him so was well chuffed when I unwrapped it. When we did the lounge dining room swap I wanted to use the tea trolley in the dining room for the whiskey collection and the decanter and crystal glasses. I'm looking to increase my decanter collection and maybe we need a tray or two more :) Oh and an ice bucket!

I am living home making right now xxx

Prep

After a fab breakfast at the waffle house for dear brother in laws birthday, I am doing interview prep and filling out passport forms. Very intense activity on both fronts.

My interview prep it taking the form of a mind map. Hopefully this picture will be in my mind tomorrow and help the answers flow. Right now I'm not nervous at all. Is that cockyness or maybe what this all means has not quite registered yet.
Not sure but hey whatever will be will be!!

Last night we were out with friends to a private club to see Duncan norvelle and a beatles tribute band. Awesome time was had by all :)

Okay I must get back to it xxx

Visiting

This afternoon, after some shopping, we went to visit my goddaughter. Bless her, she was a bit weary at first but it didn't take her long to get me down on the floor in her play room helping with a puzzle.
I don't know if I biased but she is a very clever little thing!

Wish I saw her more often but the weekends do tend to fly by.

I realised that I've not shown the ck tea pot dear husband bought me for Christmas. I do love tea in a tea pot! I had the mug already. It just about holds a tea pot worth it's so big!
Is it sad to say that I bought it to match my shed? You know the cushions and blanket that I made? Well sad it may be but there you go.

Out tonight so off to make dinner and get ready xxx

Do you read?

I love to read, and that's why I really miss my commuting days. I always had a book in my bag and got through them like nobody's business!

Serious books and romance novels I loved them all. Since I stopped working in London and stopped my 2 hour train a day journeys I have also just about stopped reading too. That is until now. You see the wymondley ladies, which is how us ladies of wymondley refer to ourselves now, have started a book club. We're registered with the library and have our first book to read. I'm so excited to have a new book to read and a deadline too, gives me more focus!

I plan to start this weekend xxx

PS please take my whole wymondley ladies thing tongue in cheek. I'm not posh nor a snob ;)

Do you read?

Sparkles

Over the festive period I put some of my icicle lights on top of the kitchen cabinet to add some sparkle and atmosphere to the kitchen.
And I've decided not to take them down. I love how they illuminate the cake plates! I would however like to get a set that are more pink in colour. Vintage pink!

I have another set of colour lights in my big pimms jug on another cabinet and although they were lovely over Christmas, they do need to come down now. I like the idea of them in a jug, it looks nice. May get another 'pink' set for the jug too ;)

Ooh yesterday I said I had no news but I did. Can't believe I forgot!
I have a second interview for my manager job! How exciting is that :)
It's next Monday.

Yay for Friday tomorrow and Macc cheese for supper tonight!!

I am a simple creature xxx

Oh another bag!

I think I have a bag obsession! I bought this cute craft bag in jl on Monday with my birthday money from dear mother, thanks mum!!

Not used it yet though. Thinking a knitting or crochet (small one) would be perfect in it :)

And that's it from me today, it's been quiet xxx

Oh another bag!

The day after

I took some cakes into work for my team today which was only an excuse to buy a packet of Emma Bridgewater union jack paper napkins! Ha ha, everyone thought they were fantastic.
My manager (who is a gem!) made me a mini bunting for my desk and two flags.
I also got a mention in today's comms meeting.
It was a great day! Again :)

Happy burns night by the way. I think a few single malts are in order to celebrate.

I had to share this photo of the boy today. He is just the cutest pussy cat in the world.

It's knit and wine at Jolie tonight, not decided if I'm going yet. Mmmmmm maybe... xxx

Proud to be British

Today I took an oath. A sworn allegiance to the Queen. Today I became a British citizen.

It's been quite an emotionally journey. One that I'm glad is over. You see I have felt, for many years, that I didn't really have a foot hold. I am south African born, to a Greek father and British mother.
Although I will always support the springboks I don't feel very south African any more. I doubt I will ever live there again.
I need a home and a home country. And this is it.

Today has been a great day.

First thing was my citizenship ceremony. An emotional and moving ceremony.
Then we stopped at welwyn to pick up a passport application form and do a spot of shopping in John Lewis. (wait till you see what I bought!!)
And then lunch at nandos before Harry Potter.

Now we're in our jim jams watching tv, having a mug of tea and doing a spot of knitting.

Oh yes today has been a good day! xxx

Proud to be British

Perfect day

A 'purrfect' day chilling on the couch with my boys and my knitting.

And what makes today even better is knowing I don't have to get up for work tomorrow. I do have to get up early though. Have an appointment at 9.30 that I can't be late for. More about that tomorrow!

Dear husband loves cowboy movies and I've become a big fan too. Do you know that there are about 4 on every Sunday? Great for winter :) Love the cath kidston cowboy fabric. Wonder what I can make with it?

Speaking of ck, I'm loving the new mag. So many lovely things for outdoors. Been thinking of what I can buy for our BBQ's. Watch this space!

I'm about to start ball 6 of the alpaca shawl, nearly done!

Bye xxx
