December 2010

Holiday knitting

I have 3 knitting/crochet baskets and each usually have at least 2 projects in them on the go at once. So that's 6 projects, unfinished! Yikes lol.

The basket next to my chair at the moment contains a just started leg warmer and the wool I bought in the john lewis sale yesterday. Pure wool 4 ply for a alpaca shawl. Yummy!

January is finishing school. And I'm planning a few knit and wine sessions in the village to help.

Also starting in January is a post a day accompanied by a photo a day. A photo of anything. It may be something at home, at work, from the garden or out and about. And hopefully there will be photos of some finished projects too!

I must also say happy birthday to my littlest sister chloe who is 18 today <3

2011 is less than 36 hours away, putting change into action! Watch this space.

Bit mixed up

I made a little mistake on yesterdays post. I meant to post a photo of joshy, hence saying 'isn't he cute'.
The photo on yesterdays post was taken after the snow when Stuart wrote a message! Aaahhhh isn't he the best?

Anyway isn't josh gorgeous?

We spent the last 3 days with very special friends in the new forest. It was so good for my soul, took me back to my youth and reminded me of where I came from. That's good isn't it? I need it on occasion, a little grounding and a chance to forget today's worries and loose myself in nostalgia. Good times!

I've been busy hooking and knitting in December so have plenty to share in the new year. And so much planned for the next few months too. Too many projects on the go at once.

Anyway I must sign off because I'm feeling full of flu, which is no good on my holidays!

As we approach 2011

2011. I sit tonight and contemplate my future and what 2011 will bring. What adventures and what challenges.

I'm facing redundancy and work but do have the opportunity to relocate which of course means upping sticks and moving. This scares the hell out of me! The thought of packing and house hunting, yikes. But how exciting having a new place of work, possibly a new job, and a new house, maybe even a bought house! 2011 could be all that!

Of course if we stay put I must find a new job. Which is so exciting, and scary! New work colleagues, new challenges. A different career?! So many possibilities.

Joshy of course doesn't have a care in the world. His food bowl is always full, there is always a cosy place to sleep and plenty cuddles available. Isn't he gorgeous!!

Do I make a resolution to see me into the new year? Do you? Mmmmm I don't know. Maybe I'll think about that tomorrow.

As we approach 2011

Christmas eve

It's Christmas eve. The gifts are wrapped, the house tidied the food shop done.

We're all ready.

The scene outside isn't quite as pretty as the photo below, lots of snow has melted and it's pretty icy, but it's snow and it's still around, and it's pretty. This is how I imagine Christmas. Oh how I would love to live in a snowy country. Like Montana in the US. My dream is to live there, sigh.

Well if you still visit and are reading this, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and prosperous 2011. From my home to yours.

Christmas eve

Cute kitty

To start I must wish my little sister a very happy 21st birthday. I love and miss you so much.

It's a big effort to catch up on so much missed blogging. I can't remember what I've shared and what I still need to share. Along with my missed blogging is my still missing mojo!

It's feels like a very long time ago that I last scrapped, made a card or did an art journal page.

I fear it has something to do with my very messy crafty area. I will share a photo, just to shock me into tidying up!

But today I'll leave you with a photo of sweet josh.

Oh Christmas tree

Not long now till Christmas day! I love (and I know I've said it loads already) Christmas. I love the build up, the tree trimming, the gift buying, wrapping and planning the menu. It's a month for sharing and loving and reflecting on the year past and looking forward to the year ahead.

But it also comes with tonnes of stress. Asking (begging) for Christmas lists, fighting the crowds at the shops and spending far too much money!

And then there is the big Christmas day feast! Holy cow, the amount of food we buy in for one day could feed a small country.

But it's worth it, isn't it? Finding that perfect present. The joy on a loved ones face when they open their gifts. The warm glow you have when settle on the sofa to watch that old classic. Yeah the same one they put on every year! lol

Aaahhh Christmas.

Oh Christmas tree

December 1st

It's been a busy evening! Being the 1st it's time to start decorating for Christmas. But before I can get everything out, I need to clear and sort and tidy the house.

This year I've also decided to be a little more selective with my decorating. I must admit to finding it very hard to put some things away. I do feel bad for the decorations that won't be out this year, silly as it sounds, lol.

I've also loaded our advent calendars and lit the advent candle. I do love December!
Now I'm looking forward to Saturday, it's tree putting up party time and I can't wait.

Right now I'm sitting on the sofa with a glass of rose and my knitting. I'm making an infinity scarf. Not sure about it yet but I'll keep going and see how it turns out. Will share a photo soon!

Bye for now!
