Garden progress and sad goodbyes :(

Mum flew home last night :( Very sad to say goodbye but I know she'll enjoy getting back to her own bed, craft room and wee car, and we're going to get back into some sort of routine. I've become lazy cause I had mum to put the washing out for me, and load the washing machine, and pop into the shops to buy odds and ends for me. Not sure when we'll see each other again as Stu and I have an 'alone' Christmas this year and mum is planning a very exciting trip for herself next Sept/Oct, but hopefully i'll hop over to Africa in March for my cousins wedding.

I have two photos of the garden to share today. Firstly the bed along the side of the house...

*SHOCK* I know, it's bare! I'm going to grass it. I decided that the light on that bed os too bad for a decent flower bed and with the veg patch right next to it there was enough going on.

And the main bed out back...

What's left of the hedge, are those twig like things you can see in the top right! The bed is massive and we've managed to use flowers from the rest of the garden ie the bed along the side of the house to fill it up. We did bye a few heather and some grassy/hedgehog type looking things that add a bluey green colour to the garden. I am in the process of cutting back the rosemary, but I have to do it slowly so Stu doesn't notice. I don't want it cut down, just neatened up. ALOT!!

There are more but i'll save them for another day :)

And now I must go and finish off my post for creative world tomorrow.

Garden Time

Mum and I have done some MEGA garden time over the past two weeks. I have no photos to share today, but I am going back into the garden today armed with the camera! I didn't {what kind of a scrapbooker am I ??} take progress photos so it'll have to be before and after shots that I share.

It's mums last full day today :( It's been a great holiday and although i am looking forward to getting back to normal, the house will be quiet! I had two half days this week, Tuesday and Friday. On Tuesday we went to the plant man in Hitchin market to buy some winter plants, and yesterday we also went to Hitchin market, but this time to look around the 'old stuff' stalls. I do love the Friday market!!

I came home with a book and a wooden box, which cost me £1.50! What a bargain :)

We have two new members over at Creative World. I can't reveal who they are just yet, but we will announce them over on the blog next week!! So excited, I love these girls!
We've also got loads in the pipeline working up to Christmas, and i've got so many ideas for projects in 2009 that I can't wait to get started, although obviously we need to wait till 2009 ;)

Right i'm itching to get into the garden!

It's Saturday

the 6th so I should be cropping but with one thing and another i've had to cancel :( But as i'm dead keen to have another crop in 2008 i've pencilled in the 8th and 9th of November for the next one.

This past week has been good. I have Tuesday and Wednesday off to spend with mum and we had great fun shopping. Tuesday morning we went to Jolie in Walkern for knit and chat. It was lovely to be there as it's something I could do every week :) Actually every day! After K&C we had lunch at a lovely pub over the road and then headed into old town to have a nail repaired and buy steaks from Waitrose for dinner.

On Wednesday our first stop was the post office in Hitchin, then coffee in Costas, a browse around La Maison Blanc, and Wilkinsons for mugs, coffee, sugar etc for the weekend. We then popped over to the craft shop in Hitchin, which I had never been into. We had a little shop as it's rude not too ;) Then off to Dunelm Mill and Laura Ashley, and after that lunch at the Roaring Meg Havester and a quick shop in Homebase, I needed a new desk lamp, and of course Hobbycraft.

Unfortunatly the 2 days flew past, and it was all too soon Thursday morning and back to work. But just two days and here we are at the weekend :) And BIG BONUS, I have Monday off so it's a long weekend for me.

SO back to today. We are off to London Colney (sp) cause apparently they have a HUGE M&S there and i'm needing a couple more bras. And then maybe a BBQ tonight at friends.

Tomorrow and Monday I think mum and I will craft! But for now, it's CIAO.

Monday, Monday

why do you come round so quickly?

It's been a good weekend. On Saturday mum and I went down to Welwyn, I had a hair appointment at 8.30 and afterwards we hit the shops. I was thoroughly spoilt, with new shoes, so work clothes and a whole lotta new underwear :) No more holey knickers and escaping wires, lol. Now I just need to get Stus credit card from him and refresh his undies drawer!!

We spent the afternoon in the garden, although it wasn't too productive as it was SO hot and the ground was SO hard!! However Stu and I popped out to the shops and these very nice people, who had been up cutting Poppys hedge, had chopped the top off our hedge so now we can actually see out over our garden from the kitchen door again :) Very kind of these people to do that for us!!

Yesterday was a scrappy day, I made 4 cards and did 2 layouts. I also watched episodes 1 to 6 of season 4 of Grey's Anatomy!! It is so good, although unlike seasons 1 to 3, I didn't cry in every episode. I hope i'm not hardening up to it!

Okay i'm off to get ready for work. One day and i'm on holiday for 2 days! WOo HOo!!
