A month in my life...

But first my SPS. Well I am alone in my space today but I love this shot of Caz my DD and her gorgeous cat Josh!

Over at IACW  we have been running an A to z project AND have been creating a 'month in my life" journal and it has been such fun. Writing every day has been a mission but collecting bits and pieces has been GREAT. This is what I started with:

BUT I decided to bind my book up front. MISTAKE. And as only Robert Burns, our SCOTTISH poet, could say it, “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.” There was so much I wanted to add that I 'unbound' it and have already added loads more pages! this is some of the stuff I wanted to add:

An outing today

Peep: To take a little look or show a little bit.

Have a peep at what I am planning to wear to the Brighton wedding - at least I will match my pink hair!!!

Last week I said I was going to the wool shop well plans changed and TODAY is the day! I am also going to the best hairdresser in the world - the WIG shop!!! I have two wigs and just love them. I do not wear them all the time but when I do I transform into another person. I am going with a 'new' friend, a really lovely English lady who has recently left England to live here with her  family.

Hopefully tomorrow I can show you all my purchases LOL!!!

Talking of my trip if anyone can meet me that would be great. Here are my dates again:

2nd August to 7th August - Great Wymondley near Hitchin Hertfordshire

7th August to 10th August - Brighton

10th August to 24th August - Glasgow

24th August to 21st September - Great Wymondley near Hitchin Hertforshire

I will be meeting Hannah and hope also to meet our very own Anita!!!

What I meant was that I will post the dates today when I will be in Hertfordshire. But when I read it is sounded like I would be in Hertfordshire TODAY!

So sorry for the confusion! I will be in Hertfordshire on Saturday the 2nd August 2008. And I am so looking forward to meeting Hannah! If anyone else can meet me that would be GREAT!

Friday Woo Hoo

Reserved for HS:MS prompt but I don't know what the prompt is!!!

So I have created my own prompt, a song from 1947 (yes the year I was born....) "It's a Good Day" It was written by Peggy Lee and Dave Barbour and published in 1947.

I have a Peggy Lee tape in my car!!! AND it's so COLD here that it will be a GOOD DAY to get into my car  turn on the heated seats and move along!!!

"Yes, it's a good day for singin' a song,
And it's a good day for movin' along;
Yes, it's a good day, how could anything go wrong,
A good day from mornin' till night..."

And her was me in 1948 - 4 months old and described by my father as "the wonder child"

 

So far this month I have finished:

• 3 cards
• 3 pages for my A to Z art journal
• Tablemats (4)
• Christmas project
• Another sewing project
• A decor project
• A month in my life every day!!!
• My knitting project
• And I have used my crochet hexagons!!!

How good is that? I have blogged almost every day, and have done some real work LOL.

My crafty space is looking a little cluttered as I have projects lying around waiting to be photographed but I'll get to that this weekend.

But first the prompt from HS:MS: Aquarius / let the Sun Shine in.

LOL yes a little cheat. I love to see the sunshine dance about my home so I have crystals hanging all over the place. In the garden I have these little sun catchers that I made from cheap mirrors and love to see the sunshine dance around the garden. Yeah - let the sunshine in!!!!

 Now back to Typepad.

Yes we pay a little for it but the support is very good. What's more we can schedule posts in the future and they automatically appear on the right day. I am enjoying this cos I can create my post for tomorrow!!! And it by magic appears tomorrow. So I am sitting "today" typing up my blog for "tomorrow" as I think of stuff Hee hee.

I have finished my sewing project and am well pleased with the results. You have to wait till I post it on IACW before I can share it here. Today I am going to great wool and fabric shop to buy some bamboo for my daughter and another crafting friend. yes I will show you the bamboo! Gorgeous colours.

I am beginning to get excited about my trip to the UK. Need to make a list of what i HAVE to take, mostly stuff fror Caz and her husband Stu. LOL. Apart from that it's just normal clothes, laptop, camera, charger, adapter plug and toiletries.

Oh I have my outfit for the wedding planned - Roz's son Simon to Jazz in BRIGHTON. Woo Hoo and I get to spend time with "Wild Roze".

The story of a sewing machine or a few in fact ....

Reserved for HS:MS Prompt - who are having a break so thanks to Sue "You need hands..." so here are mine....

Now for the story:

About 25 years ago I was married (for the second time), had 2 step children, and a GREAT sewing machine - an Elna Stella made in Switzerland .

Victoria (the elder of my step daughters) wanted a sewing machine for Christmas so I swopped my great machine for my Mum's gorgeous little Elna Lotus, perfect for a young girl, and gave it to Victoria.

So I have no sewing machine. but the next year I buy a cheap machine. 20 years later I buy another GREAT Elna machine. Meanwhile Mum gives my machine, the Elna Stella, to my sister and buys another sewing machine - the latest and greatest, also Elna....

When Mum died, I got her sewing machine, so then I take MY machine (the other great Elna) to Caz, yes on the plane.

Then I move into my sister Linda's house in January 2008, and guess what I now get to use 'her' machine again my wonderful Elna Stella!!!

PS I really do not like Mum's machine although it's the latest and greatest!!!

I am a very happy Panda.

I have beeen really thinking about why I blog. And I have decided that it's cos I like people to visit me and that I can visit and chat to. I can write a diary every day and that's personal. Discovering HS:MS I have to confess lets people visit my blog LOL. So That's my bit of honesty for the day!

But saying that I love the daily challenge! Somedays I use what I have and other days I wander about looking for the the thing that is really in my space.

Having said that - what is in my space today is a sneak peek at a new project...

What am I up yo??? Not telling LOL
